About Me...

I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia where my creativity and intuition were fostered at an early age. The arts were my solace at the age of 15 when I was diagnosed with Clinical Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I used art as a form of self-expression and catharsis, which ultimately lead to much healing in my life.

Naturally, I wanted to help others who may be struggling, so I attended West Virginia University where I received my undergraduate degree in psychology. I went on to attend Lesley University and completed my masters in Expressive Arts Therapies and Mental Health Counseling.  I have worked in lots of settings over the course of 10 years, including psychiatric hospitals, university health centers, outpatient centers and community based clinics.

Throughout my training and work experience in various mental health settings, I felt like something was missing in the work I was able to provide clients. I felt a strong need to pull in other holistic aspects of healing in my work, including mindfulness, spirituality, natural remedies, manifestion and vision work.  All the things that had a strong impact on my own life.

My mission is to help people find purpose, satisfaction and balance in their life. Living a life that is out of alignment with our values can be completely depleting to our mind, body and spirit. I really wanted to create a business that fosters each of these aspects and incorporates alternative practices to help create holistic balance. My hope is that each person I come in contact with has a shift in their being, new knowledge about themselves and every day tools they can use to re-calibrate.

I currently live in Somerville with my husband, our rescue dog and lots of plants and crystals. I create art, hike and travel in my spare time. I have a love for oracle cards, animals, decorating spaces, fashion, styling, nature, Zumba and Yoga.

More than anything, I believe in the healing power of both tears and laughter.

Services & Pricing

Expressive Arts Therapy Sessions

$150 per single hour

Tufts, Lesley and Harvard Students: $75 per single hour

Being that I prefer to work outside of the medical model, I do not currently accept insurance. I can, however, provide you with a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. It is important for you to know that whenever you are provided with coverage via insurance I will need to give you a working diagnosis. I am happy to discuss pro's and con's of this with you. I also recommend that you call your insurance provider to ask specifically about their out of network mental health benefits and reimbursement rates.

Phone sessions can be arranged for non-local people.  An array of supplies are included in the session fee.

*Please note that Expressive Arts Therapy Sessions ARE consider psychotherapy and should be treated as such!*

I am also part of Open Path Collective, which provides affordable care for people who need financial assistance. Please check them out here if you think you may be a good fit:  www.openpathcollective.com

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Leah over the past four years since working together with individuals and families at a private mental health agency. Her warmth and kindness always set a tone in her work, as well as being a skilled artist and therapist who provides a gentle influence with self-expression and collaboration. I’ve seen Leah and the relationships she has developed and there is a great deal of trust and confidence that has helped people get through difficult periods and move forward in their lives. I have a lot respect for Leah and appreciate the level of creativity and dedication that she brings to her work and connection with others.
— Aaron Carter, LICSW
Leah is a deeply caring and wise force. She is not afraid to think outside of the box when considering original interventions that could benefit clients or supervisees. I have known Leah for around three years and have had the opportunity to have several structured supervision sessions with her. Each time I left the room having gained insight and having that creative door inside myself opened and my intuition strengthened due to the environment she created in our hour together. I’m so grateful to have gotten the chance to work with her.

Ritualistic Self-Love (1).png

Sunday, June 23rd from 1 pm-3 pm

The Therapy Center for Mind and Body, 1236 Broadway, Somerville, MA 02144

Throughout time human's have created ritual- space to celebrate, grieve, reflect and relax together. With the fast paced-ness of our current society, I'm finding that people are looking for daily ritual that truly resonates with their authentic nature.

When we take time to honor ourselves through ritual, we can begin to accept, recognize and be present with ourselves creating a ripple effect of self-love and outward compassion.

In this workshop you will learn about the history of ritual through time and culture, research that supports ritual work's positive effects on mental wellness, potential elements of ritual, how to create daily ritual for yourself and how to help other's create their own ritual.

I am incredibly excited about this offer because I know it's a win-win. Not only will you build a self-love ritual for YOU, but you'll also learn how to guide your own clients and/or loved ones in creating their own ritual, too.

Ritual work has had such a positive impact on my personal life from improved confidence and mindset, dealing with vicarious trauma, relaxation and building heart centered compassion/boundaries for self and other.

I've noticed as I've been doing this work with clients that their relationship with the concept of "self-love" and excitement about their day expands. It's also a great potential relapse prevention for those who struggle with depression and anxiety.

And, now I couldn't be happier to help guide you in doing the same.
