“Self-compassion is vital to our wellbeing individually and collectively.

When we can identify and accept all parts of self, we can understand that all our feelings are valid, that we are valid sacred beings.

And, we begin to understand that we can be healing and still be whole.”

I love supporting people like you in listening and cultivating their inner wisdom!

I know that reaching out isn’t easy. I’ve been there. And, yet, here you are— listening to that part of self that’s saying, “I’m done feeling this way.” I’m so glad you’re listening!

Depression, melancholy, sadness, tension, restlessness, lack of focus, anxiety, and anger often present themselves when we aren’t able to express our genuine selves. When we are suppressed and/or oppressed, deeply conditioned to believe things about ourselves that are not true, and covertly/overtly asked to live our lives in ways that aren’t aligned with our being, our spirits dwindle, our souls wander, and our minds escape.

As a holistic and trauma-informed therapist using Expressive Arts Therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Emotional Freedom Technique, Internal Family Systems, Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapies, and Somatic-based experiencing, we will collaborate in creating a space in your life and within you that fosters wellbeing. I strongly believe that you hold the answers to living your best life. I am simply a guide.

If the above resonates with you, I encourage you to reach out to me for a free 15-minute consultation. You can find the contact form at the bottom of this site.

About Leah...

Leah-EmilyTebbettsPhotography-55.jpg

I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia where my creativity and intuition were fostered at an early age. The arts were my solace at the age of 15 when I was diagnosed with Clinical Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I used art as a form of self-expression and catharsis, which ultimately lead to much healing in my life.

Naturally, I wanted to help others who may be struggling, so I attended West Virginia University where I received my undergraduate degree in psychology. I went on to attend Lesley University and completed my masters in Expressive Arts Therapies and Mental Health Counseling.  I have worked in lots of settings over the course of 15 years, including psychiatric hospitals, university health centers, outpatient centers and community based clinics.

Throughout my training and work experience in various mental health settings, I felt like something was missing in the work I was able to provide clients. I felt a strong need to pull in other holistic aspects of healing in my work, including mindfulness, spirituality, natural remedies, and vision work.  All the things that had a strong impact on my own life.

I am also allied with social justice and anti-racism theory and practice, sensitive to those who hold marginalized identities and hold a restorative justice framework should my lens as a white cis-het woman cause tension or harm in relationship.

My mission is to help people find purpose, satisfaction and balance in their life. Living a life that is out of alignment with our values can be completely depleting to our mind, body and spirit. I really wanted to create a business that fosters each of these aspects and incorporates alternative practices to help create holistic balance. My hope is that each person I come in contact with has a shift in their being, new knowledge about themselves and every day tools they can use to re-calibrate.

I currently live in Somerville with my husband, our rescue dog and lots of plants and crystals. I create art, hike and travel in my spare time. I have a love for oracle cards, nature, poetry, live music, and dance.

More than anything, I believe in the healing power of both tears and laughter.

My Commitment to Social Justice…

We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist.
— James Baldwin

I am firmly committed to personal, professional, and community anti-racism work, the decolonization of self and counseling, and to deeply respecting the rights and humanity of those who hold marginalized identities.

While I have experience working with people that hold various marginalized identities, I personally identify as a cis hetero white woman and acknowledge that I have inherent biases that may effect our work together.

Should harm take place, I am fully committed to a restorative justice process. Essentially, understanding how I have impacted you and taking accountability for my actions.

My aim is to uphold the voices of the most marginalized in the room at all times.

You’re welcome to ask me more about my stance, how I am involved in anti-racism work, and the restorative justice process.

Holistic Therapy Sessions

$150 per 60 minute hour

**I have a certain amount of sliding scale spots open for Black, Brown, and Indigenous People of Color. Please let me know if you’re interested in discussing this option.

Being that I prefer to work outside of the medical model, I do not accept insurance. I can, however, provide you with a monthly superbill and paid invoices, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. It is important for you to know that whenever you are provided with coverage via insurance I will need to give you a psychiatric diagnosis. I am happy to discuss the pros and cons of this with you. I strongly recommend that you call your insurance provider to ask specifically about their out-of-network mental health benefits and reimbursement rates before you contact me for a consultation if you will need financial reimbursement.

I offer both in person and virtual sessions.

To contact me about scheduling a complimentary new client consultation, click here.

**As of Jan 1st, 2022, a law was passed called the No Surprises Act. You can read about your rights here. You have a right to request a Good Faith Estimate from me at any time.

$300 for 2 hour long PSIP medicine sessions

$450 for 3 hour long PSIP or KAP sessions

You can learn more about PSIP here, but before you do, know that the content on this page has the potential to be triggering. So, please be mindful of when you’re setting up a time for yourself to go over this website, and create space for nourishment before and after viewing this site.

You can also check out my Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy FAQ page here.

Please fill out this specific contact form if you’d like to schedule a complimentary PSIP or KAP consultation.

**Insurance does not currently cover psychedelic assisted psychotherapy, therefore I do not provide superbills for medicine sessions nor would you be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company. I can provide you with paid invoices and superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement for all non-medicine prep, anchoring and integration sessions. I recommend calling your insurance company to inquire about your out of network mental health benefits.

I’m not licensed to prescribe, so if you’re interested in using Cannabis and/or Ketamine in session you will need to have access to a prescriber and/or dispensary of your own choosing. PSIP can also be used without medicine. We can talk more about this during your consultation.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Leah over the past four years since working together with individuals and families at a private mental health agency. Her warmth and kindness always set a tone in her work, as well as being a skilled artist and therapist who provides a gentle influence with self-expression and collaboration. I’ve seen Leah and the relationships she has developed and there is a great deal of trust and confidence that has helped people get through difficult periods and move forward in their lives. I have a lot respect for Leah and appreciate the level of creativity and dedication that she brings to her work and connection with others.
— Aaron Carter, LICSW . www.dialogicspace.com
Leah is a deeply caring and wise force. She is not afraid to think outside of the box when considering original interventions that could benefit clients or supervisees. I have known Leah for around three years and have had the opportunity to have several structured supervision sessions with her. Each time I left the room having gained insight and having that creative door inside myself opened and my intuition strengthened due to the environment she created in our hour together. I’m so grateful to have gotten the chance to work with her.
